Module 4: The Basics Of Marketing

About Module 4: Module 4 focuses on helping students understand how modern marketing works by building from foundational concepts to real-world applications. Throughout the module, students explore how marketing has evolved to become customer-focused and integrated into all areas of business, while learning how to develop effective marketing strategies using tools like the marketing mix, market segmentation, and research. They examine consumer behavior and competition, analyze branding and emotional connections through examples like Seth Godin and global companies, and evaluate how marketing differs across industries, business models, and organizations—including nonprofits and local businesses. Additionally, students study product-related concepts such as packaging and types of consumer offerings, while applying their knowledge to both large global brands and small local businesses. Overall, the module emphasizes that successful marketing is about understanding customers, creating value, and using strategy to build strong, lasting relationships.
