Step 3: Use These Websites To Do Market Research

(Explained In Video)

1.) Google Trends:
Google Trends is a free online tool provided by Google that analyzes the popularity of search queries across various regions and languages. It displays how frequently specific terms are entered into Google's search engine over time, offering visual insights through graphs and data comparisons. Users can explore trending topics, compare the relative interest of different search terms, and filter results by geography, time range, category, and type of search (e.g., web, image, news, YouTube). Marketers, researchers, and journalists commonly use Google Trends to identify emerging interests, seasonal patterns, and geographic differences in public attention. For the purposes of this project, we are going to use the data that we find on Google Trends to prove we are tuned in with demand (we identify a trend and an ideal time for a T-Shirt campaign.

2.) United States Census Site is the U.S. Census Bureau’s primary platform for accessing data collected through various national surveys, including the Decennial Census, American Community Survey (ACS), and Economic Census. It provides users with free access to a wide range of demographic, social, economic, and housing statistics about the U.S. population. The site features customizable search tools, interactive tables, maps, and downloads to help users find and analyze data by location, topic, or dataset. Researchers, policymakers, educators, and businesses use the platform to inform decisions, conduct studies, and understand population trends across states, counties, cities, and neighborhoods. For the purposes of this project, we will use this site to verify that a given US city has enough people with excess disposable income to target for a marketing campaign.
